educational website

My educational website deals with a unit I teach on Ben Franklin in language arts. The website could be done as a whole group, in class over several days, or done individually. I actually enjoyed completing this lesson and it was pretty easy.   Once I worked out the bugs, it was extremely easy and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Video

This is the video I may use with my students when I showing them how to use acclerated reader in my classroom.  This is the second time we recorded the video because the acoustics in my classroom are horrible.  The first time the video was a lot less shakie, but you couldn't hear the students.  The second time we did it, the camera was pretty shakie.

WebQuest Finally!!!!

Here is take two of my WebQuest.  I hope it works this time.

participation

My participation for this class at this point could have been better. As the class has progressed though, I have made more friends and dicussed projects with people in class.  I used a screen cast for one, and just linked the others.

K-12 Wiki

This is my K-12 wiki. I used my virtual lewis and clark google earth activity.

Photo Slide Show

My students are reading the story Dear Mrs. Parks.  The story is about letters that students wrote Rosa Parks, and her correspondences. The students were then to pick out their role models and write a paragraph about their role models.  Students then could borrow my camera and go home and take pictures of their role models.  They then came to school and worked in animoto to create a video.  While students were reading their paragraphs, the video was playing behind them.

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

podcast

My podcast is my students working in a literature circle. They were discussing the first three chapters on Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis. Actually this was a really great activity to do with Podcasts because you can have several literature circles going on at once and then listen later to see how the students are doing. I have done literature circles for the past few years, but I think that this is a great way to use literature circles in the class.

Here is my slideshow of my class, in cooperative learning groups. Each student has a job, like leader, material manger, voice monitor, cleaner. The students really enjoy working together.

screen cast

My screen cast was on Lattice Multiplication. My student Sharod explained the steps to lattice multiplication. He was eager to help and said after that he enjoyed creating a screen cast and he would love to do it again. I think that this is a great way to assess.

Here is my webquest on Ben Franklin for my 5th grade students.  It is pretty basic, but for being my first,  it should work.

2nd google doc.

In this activity, my students all have GMail accounts.  In this interactive activity, the students create a multiplication story problem and add it to the doc.  Then other students come and answer the problem.  The student that creates the problem must put their name in parentheses and a special color, then another student answer it in a different color.  I hope this works.  The goal is over time, the problems will get harder and the students will explain how they got the answer.

Google Earth Field Trip

It took me a while to work on this google earth field trip thing.  There were a lot of steps to remember and time very consuming. I'm sure that after doing it a few times, it will get easier.

Ben Franklin Quiz

This week my class is reading a story about Ben Franklin, so I created a quiz on my studiyo.  It was super easy and didn't take me very long to do.  I think I will really use this in my classroom!!!
